Until now we h ave focussed on Poisson process models, in which the points are assumed to be
independent of each other. In the next two chapters, we introduce models that allow dependence be-
tween points. Rough ly sp eaking the models in Chapter 12 have positive dependence between points
(clustering) and those in Chapte r 13 typically h ave negative dependence between points (regularity).
This chapter introduces Co x point processes and Neyman-Scott cluster processes, which are
