The pen is an excellent tool for creating short notes and marking up existing documents. It’s
much less appropriate for creating new documents or entering large amounts of text; in
either of those cases, a keyboard is a far better input device. For basic note taking, your best
choice is a new member of the Office family called OneNote. This versatile program
(shown in Figure 10.2) acts like an endlessly expandable file folder, on which you can jot
notes, draw pictures, and insert scraps from Web pages and from other documents.
