Removing Multiline Addresses from Your Contacts Folder
When I open the Outlook data I exported to another program, the file contains stray characters that I
didn’t put there. What’s happening?
Your exported data contains stray characters that cause problems when you try to open the
file in another program. The culprit might be multiline addresses from your Contacts
folder. In some export formats, Outlook includes carriage return characters with each line of
the address, and the program you’re using to import the data interprets these as end-of-
