Changing Paper Size and Orientation
Using the terminology commonly associated with paragraph distances, the Header distance
is an “exactly” measurement; and the Top distance is an “at least” measurement.
Bottom margins work precisely the same way, with the bottom of the last line of the footer
“exactly” the Footer distance from the bottom of the sheet, and the bottom of the last line
of body text “at least” the Bottom distance.
Click the Default button at the bottom of the Page Setup dialog box, and Word offers to
alter the template attached to the current document, giving it all the page-formatting
