Preventing Formulas from Displaying in the Formula Bar
When you design a worksheet that you intend other people to use for data entry, you might
want to hide the formulas themselves and show their results. This technique can be useful if
your formula contains confidential or proprietary information that you don’t want to share
with others. It’s also a useful way to prevent other users from attempting to edit a formula.
To prevent a formula from appearing in the Formula bar, you must first set a specific for-
matting option for that cell, and then turn on protection for the entire worksheet:
