Outlook's Registry Keys

The chapters in this book have provided some insight into editing the Windows Registry to customize certain Outlook information. Outlook actually stores a very large amount of information in the Registry, and most of it is essential to the functionality of the program. Table C.4 lists some of the main Registry keys Outlook uses to store its information.

CAUTION

Unless described previously in this book or listed on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, you should never edit any of these Registry keys directly. Use Outlook to make any changes you require.

If you do use the techniques in this book to make changes to the Registry, make sure that you have an adequate backup of the Registry at all times.
