Using the Database Utilities

Access 97 offers four utility functions, which you access from the Tools, Database Utilities menu. You can perform three of these functions (Compact a Database, Repair a Database, and Make an MDE File) with or without a database open; the fourth utility function (Convert a Database) can be performed only when no database is open. If you have a large database, these operations take a considerable amount of time.
