Just as digital video has improved over the last three years, PC audio has come a long way. The original Sound Blaster board delivered audio quality about on par with that of a dashboard AM option. Today, sound boards have evolved to handle CD-quality sound, reproduce realistic MIDI scores, and even create compelling 3-D audio for games and titles.
