Database Functions Overview and Syntax

Database functions operate over ranges that can span more than one row or column. One of the key benefits of database functions is the capability to set up criteria ranges for creating complex criteria. For example, if you have to look up maximum or minimum numbers through a period of time over a span of years, database functions work great for a quick reference lookup. As with all functions, you can reference the database with a range name or with the cell references; either way works.
