Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) are a class of permanent magnet motors, uniquely characterized by the presence of uniform magnetization (providing a sinusoidal flux waveform), distributed winding with increased number of slots, reduced torque ripple during commutation, when compared to brushless DC (BLDC) motor.
