Using the dataset on the report designer

Using a dataset derived from a multidimensional model or cube is no different than using a dataset derived from a T-SQL query or stored procedure. The only difference, a very good difference, is that the Analysis Services is doing the calculations and aggregations on the analytic engine, and not on the database engine.

  1. From the report designer, expand the dsSalesTerritory dataset. You may notice that there are four fields in this dataset: Group, Country, Region, and Sales_Amount.
