Integrating R in SSRS reports

SSRS reports can read datasets from either a query or a stored procedure. Essentially this gives us enough flexibility to choose how we want to incorporate the R output as part of ad-hoc or operational reports in SSRS.

Now, let's take a look at a couple of examples where we integrate R in SSRS Reports. Suppose a data analyst wants to do a quick statistical analysis to understand the strength of the relationship between Sales Person and Total Amount. It's very easy to do this using SSRS. Here's an example showing how you can achieve this.

  1. Using either Visual Studio 2017 or SQL Server Management Studio, connect to WideWorldImporters.
  2. Create a new stored procedure called dbo.usp_AnalyzeOrdersUsingAnova:
