WORKING WITH THE DIRECTOR DURING REHEARSAL
• As the closest assistant to the director, one of your most important functions will be to assist in getting the most productive results out of the time allotted to each rehearsal. To do this well, it is important to maintain a clear understanding of the director’s function and a working relationship that will help his or her aims to be carried out smoothly.
The director is responsible for interpreting the playwright’s work through the cast with the help of the staff. It is the director’s artistic concept of the play that the cast, staff and crew work to obtain.
