The Process of Stigmatization

Stigma is a real problem that permeates practically every area of society; it can have devastating effects and lead to some very serious problems. Our society today is fragmenting at a rapid rate under the burdens of stigma even though we have launched into the twenty-first century, where progressive tolerance and acceptance should be pulling us all closer together. The degree of fragmentation is reaching a toxic level: if something is not done to aggressively deal with it and bring it under control, we could see the very fabric of our nation, as well as communities across the globe, ripped into chaotic violence, social degradation, and economic collapse.
