Creating a Chart

Charts are actually inserted as OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) objects. So, while your chart is actually based on data in the spreadsheet, the chart itself is an embedded object.

Since charts are objects (just like graphics from another program), you will find that when you edit your charts, the server (or parent application) in which they were created—StarOffice Chart—will actually open in the StarCalc window. You will then have all the facilities provided by StarOffice Chart to modify your chart.
