A-1. Math Skills Analysis

Being able to perform some basic mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals is important to successfully learn how to use and apply statistical process control. In this section, we will ask you to solve a set of problems dealing with arithmetic, fractions, and decimals. You will probably be using a calculator for doing SPC calculations. If you wish to use one now, by all means do so! After checking your answers with those in appendix B, you may feel that you need additional review and practice. If so, we strongly suggest that you study the remaining sections of this chapter before continuing with your study of SPC.
