Chapter 8

Further methods

Three further methods are briefly discussed in this chapter: i) toxicokinetics, ii) toxicoge-nomics, and iii) interlaboratory studies.

8.1 Toxicokinetics

According to the ICH guideline S3A [332] toxicokinetic methods characterize the systemic exposure achieved in animals and its relation to dose and time in repeated toxicity studies.

Features:

  • Toxicokinetics: Estimating area-under-the-curve (AUC) for incomplete designs
  • Toxicokinetics: Comparing AUCs
  • Toxicogenomics: The Benjamini–Hochberg false discovery approach is used for selected probe sets
  • Toxicogenomics: Trend tests for high-dimensional data are shown
  • Interlaboratory studies: The similarity of the dose-response relationship between laboratories is demonstrated ...
