The Point

The spirit of stewardship demands a conversation on institutional purpose and how it cares for the common good. The tendency is to try harder, even if what you try harder at—more efficiency, control, and management—is part of the problem. Something seriously different has to occur if we are to revive our commitment to the common good. We need loud voices to push back the tide of privatization and the value system that comes with this.

There are voices in each of the domains listed here giving form to the alternative to the business perspective, which we might call the commons perspective. Here are some seeds of the movement in the commons direction:
