Good stock ideas can come from an unlimited number of sources, and I would much rather get a stock idea from Main Street than Wall Street.
About a dozen years ago, I had a student whose family friend operated an oilfield service company, and thought it might make a good company for Burkenroad to follow. The student made the connection, and the CEO was very impressed by our methods of finding and researching solid, lesser-known stocks.
