Decision making has various techniques and tools. The techniques can be divided into three categories based on use:
- Used to improve the creativity and/or to enhance the problem identification and decision making skills of the individual
- Used to improve the creativity and/or to enhance the problem identification and decision making ability of groups
- Used to work with problem networks or “messes” (as systems scientists call them)
In this chapter, we shall identify a comprehensive cross-section of techniques in all three categories, describe how they work, and judge their effectiveness. These tools came from a variety of sources (Andersen 1980; Dickson 1969; Ewing ...
