Sampling
I used purposive and snowball sampling techniques (Bryman, 2016).
Purposive sampling of CFOs
I strategically sampled CFOs to select those most relevant to my research question. My sampling covered the full range of overall retention capabilities of CFOs to conduct a comparative case study with the four comparison sets covering short, medium, long, and extended retention capabilities, all measured at pre-Covid levels.
Approaching CFOs
