INTRODUCTION

As the UK was a pioneer in the comprehensive international deregulation process within telecommunications that started in the late 1970s, it is of great interest to study the development of strategies of the operators in this market. The deregulation started early in Sweden also and it is interesting to describe and compare the situations in these two markets.
