Abstract

Test methods are discussed to enable evaluation of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) system performance, with particular concern with assessing the effects of environmental degradation. Items discussed include the selection of samples to be used, the test environment, and the performance metrics to be tested. Test methods covered include bond durability by pull-off testing, flexural testing, and nondestructive modal testing for storage modulus and loss factor. Suggestions are provided for sample preparation, testing standards to consider, and development of an appropriate test plan and procedure.
