Of the available fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening design and analysis procedures, recommendations are given for use for bridges. Recommended design procedures are based on accuracy, format compatibility, clarity, and ease of use. Suggested modifications to existing procedures are discussed including methods to use appropriate environmental factors, flexural design considering compression failures, initial strain for prestressed concrete sections, and strength reduction factors for prestressed sections.
