This is the very quickest way to calm down when you’re stressed out.

When you’re stressed, what do you do? Grab a coffee, have a cigarette, vent to your girlfriend? All of these are the result of adrenaline and cortisol ripping around your body, making you very twitchy. The result of this is that you want a fight or you want to run away. The trouble is that just about every response we have to stress is guaranteed to wind us up even more (see above, all of which increase, rather than decrease, the hormones that initiate the stress response).
