Second-Order ConfirmatoryFactor Analysis Model

The application to be illustrated in this chapter differs from those of the previous chapters in two ways. First, it focuses on a confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) model that comprises a second-order factor structure. Second, whereas analyses in Chapters 3 and 4 were based on continuous data, analyses in the present application are based on categorical data. As such, the ordinality of the item data is taken into account.
