Introduction

The production tasks associated with video control in the production environment is the primary responsibility of the Technical Director (TD).

The primary job of the Technical Director is to operate the video switcher – thus controlling the program video that viewers see at home. The TD is located in the Control Room, usually near to the Director, and located at the video switcher. Video program, much like audio program, is the final compilation of video sources that is sent out for transmission or recorded.
