The ticket said it all.

The Happiest Place on Earth. What comes to mind for you? For me, the ticket to Disneyworld was everything childhood Karen ever dreamed of. It was my first airplane ride. My first trip to Florida. My first visit to the Magic Kingdom. And my first big adventure away from my parents. Before I even set foot into the House of Mouse, I began to experience the anticipation and thrill that can only be felt – truly felt – by a child.

I'll never forget the night before the flight, sleeping in one of my grandfather's undershirts as a makeshift nightgown. I could hardly fall asleep, but eventually I went down with the kind of deep sleep that comes to kids who try to outlast their anticipation until the wee hours. Through the deep fog of sleep, my grandpa's voice: “Come on Karen! Let's go – we've got to get you into the car so we make it to the airport on time!”

Where does the magic really come from? They call it the Magic Kingdom for a reason – or was it just a slogan? For me, I found the magic inside the meaning. In the middle of a sun-showery Florida day, tiny Karen found the origin of the magic. Do you know where it comes from?
