I worked with our district library to develop a strategic plan looking out at least ten years. As a board member, I offered my services pro bono, but that didn’t keep me from pushing them as hard as I do any of my clients.
When it came time to measure success for the executive director, the board of trustees, and the library as a whole, we had to stay focused on the mission and vision. It wasn’t an easy road, and we risked slipping off at any one of the numerous curves along the way.
