Introduction
Many researchers have looked at motivation to understand behavior, from the earliest behavioral researchers who focused on stimuli–response, to later ones that focused on suppressed memories, to those who looked at social needs and so on. In a simple sense, if we can understand motivation, we might then be able to then predict behavior, and if we can predict behavior, we might be able to solve someone’s ills, or stop them before they do something of bad consequences.
