Chapter 11. System Architectures
This chapter describes the architecture of recent SPARC-based systems and explores the performance trade-offs that are made throughout the range. The appropriate SPEC benchmarks are listed for each machine. I first describe the uniprocessor SPARC machines, then I describe in detail the multiprocessor machines. Subsequent chapters describe in more depth the components that make up these systems.
