Changing the SCSI-initiator ID

The nvram script can be edited from either a Solaris OE shell or from the OBP prompt. The shell method is easier to use if the OS is operational. Additionally, the shell method can be scripted and is easier to document than working at the OBP level. However, if the OS is down, it will be easier to implement changes using the OBP method. In either case, the machine has to be rebooted for changes to take effect.

This procedure is intended for a two-node cluster. Some of the issues involved in modifying this procedure to work with more than two nodes were discussed earlier in this appendix.
