Cluster Logs

To effectively monitor the status of a cluster, the log files should be frequently reviewed.

Most cluster warnings, errors, and notices are sent to the /var/adm/messages file via syslog. Additionally, error messages displayed to users not logged into the console are terse. For detailed error messages, users should review the logs. Users logged in via telnet or rlogin will only see the message “scadmin: errors encountered” if an error occurs. Because this message could be easily missed or ignored, it is important to confirm cluster health regularly by reviewing the logs.
