The first two days that the team spends identifying TO BE material flow changes often seem anticlimactic. From the first day of the first week, people had ideas on how to fix things. By this point in the analysis, it’s usually already clear what changes are needed to improve profits and customer satisfaction. Sometimes, identifying the details of TO BE change is as simple as adding the phrase “thou shalt not” to the problem statements imbedded in the projects.
