27.8.3 Objects
To display and process the DB2 object list we select 3 from the Utility Functions panel, as
shown in Figure 27-57.

The Object List Utility panel is now displayed, as shown in Figure 27-58.

Here we enter:
򐂰 The name of the object that we will list or print. Wildcards are allowed to get a list of
objects.
򐂰 The type of the object. The default is object type 3 (table/view/alis). By entering a question
mark (?) we get a list with the different object types, as shown in Figure 27-59. This list is
scrollable with F8 to see all types.

We now list all tables (object type 3) starting with EMP* for owner SE65273, as shown in
Figure 27-60.

As shown in Figure 27-61, there are three tables found for the criteria. We have the ability to
scroll to the right to see more information about the objects.

If there are a lot of objects displayed we can use a wildcard to make a new selection, as
shown in Figure 27-62. Under the header TABLE NAME we entered EMPN*.

After entering the wildcard pattern the panel displays, as shown in Figure 27-63.

As we can see in Figure 27-64, there is a line command area were we can enter the object list
line commands. By entering a question mark (?) in the line command area we get a list of the
object list utility object types, as shown in Figure 27-65 and Figure 27-66 on page 833.
