Passion, Commitment, and Energy: Creating a Sustainable Retail Industry

I received a call, nearly three years ago, from my co-author Vilma Barr. Vilma and I have known each other for many years through her role as a writer and thought leader within the retail design business. Her comment, unusually somber with a great deal of gravitas, for the world of retail, fashion, and consumerism, was that there is a void in the communication of the scope of sustainability, and therefore an interest around the topic of sustainability. There is a need, she said, to educate the international market on what is being done and what should be considered for the future of the health of the planet.
