Abstract
The chapter will present key concepts, tools, and applications in the area of sustainable design through process integration. Focus is given to holistic process design approaches that emphasize the unity of the process, especially in the areas of conservation of natural resources, reduction of negative environmental impact, and enhancement of process yield and productivity.
