Overview of Characteristics ofSelected Banks

In this appendix the characteristics of the banks discussed in Chapter 9 are examined. Table VIII.1 shows the size of each of the 34 selected banks as at the end of 1999. Table VIII.2 follows with a picture of the performance and strategy of individual banks. Both tables are followed by explanations.
