This chapter will introduce you to the permitted structure of SVG documents. It will also introduce you to several of the SVG elements. In later chapters, we will examine the other SVG elements; for example, in Chapter 3, “Basic SVG Elements and Shapes,” we will look at the SVG elements that provide the basic SVG graphic shapes.
