Transformations are an important part of SVG's functionality and can take many forms. The ability to place objects in a precise position relative to a fixed point, rotation of an object, scaling of an object, skew of an object—all these are supported in SVG. In addition, as you will see in Chapter 11, “SVG Animation Elements,” you can animate transformations in SVG.
