  1. It is important to thoroughly understand the common best practices in PDP. Based on the PDP shown in Figure 9.5, consider, in teams of 3 or 4, how a PDP for a large, complex, evolving system should look. Then examine the PDPs from the companies of your team members. What do they have in common? Where and why are they ­different? Synthesize a generic PDP in as much detail as possible, while still keeping it generic.

Deliverables

  • Comparison of the elemental steps or tasks that are common to the company PDPs (there may be 20 to 40 steps).
