Abstract
Affordable cost-effective assurance requires a common infrastructure to support discovering system knowledge, exchanging knowledge, integrating knowledge from multiple sources, collating pieces of knowledge, and distributing the accumulated knowledge. This chapter describes the protocols of the OMG Software Assurance Ecosystem, focusing on the use of generic and concrete knowledge and ways to efficiently integrate these units of knowledge within the fact-oriented system model that is utilized for vulnerability analysis.
