Adding Dependencies

You often will encounter applications that have prerequisite software requirements. For example, the ConfigMgr 2012 console requires .NET Framework 4.0 full installation. With traditional package/program deployment, you would use the Run another program first feature. This feature has long existed in ConfigMgr (and Systems Management Server), and works well to install prerequisite software. The feature is missing one thing: the ability to determine if the prerequisite software is already installed. With the Run another program first feature, ConfigMgr might run the prerequisite software again (depending on advertisement and program rerun properties), even if the software were actually installed.
