Automatic Deployment Rules
Automatic deployment rules (ADRs) fill a large gap in software update functionality that existed in ConfigMgr 2007, as there was no way to automatically download and assign updates. For the normal monthly update process, this is not actually a large burden and was more of a perceived shortcoming particularly when compared to the built-in functionality of stand-alone WSUS.
When it came to Forefront Client Security (FCS) and Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP) 2007 definition updates however, this burden is tangible and excessive because they are updated multiple times every day.
