Setup and Recovery
The next sections focus on enhancements related to initial evaluation and setup, upgrade scenarios, and recovery scenarios. These include support for new operating systems, database configuration, and scalability enhancements.
Support for New Operating Systems
All site system roles are now supported on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2, and the Distribution Point role is also supported on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
Database Configuration
When installing ConfigMgr 2012 RTM, the database files and transaction logs were created using the default SQL locations for the file types. You now can designate the database and transaction log location during setup, as shown in Figure 2.21.
