Designing for converged networks

Converged network is a Windows Server 2012 R2/2016 feature that allows the creation of virtual network adapters, meaning that you can partition the physical NIC in many Virtual NIC's. Therefore, different network traffic types mentioned earlier start using the same physical adapters that are usually teamed. NIC teaming, also known as Load Balancing and Failover (LBFO), is a core element of a converged network fabric. With VMM 2016 and Windows Server 2016, you have two ways to do teaming.
