7Specialized Methods and Tools for System of Systems Engineering
As clarified in part I of this book, Systems-of-Systems present various features that make them a different entity than monolithic systems, however complex they might be. For this reason, not only existing methods and tools need to be modified and adapted to the specific needs of SoS, but also new methods and tools need to be developed, which specifically address features and traits of SoS problems. In this chapter, we provide examples of some of these methods and tools which have been developed ad hoc for SoS engineering.
