Apple makes a big deal about the superior privacy of their devices and operating systems. To be sure, some of that is just marketing, because other devices and operating systems also have good privacy measures built in, even if they’re not quite the same as what Apple offers. But it’s also true that Apple is unique among big tech companies in making the vast majority of their money from selling products and services rather than from advertising. And, by making privacy part of their brand, they’re hoping you’ll trust them enough to keep buying expensive gadgets from them.
