Apple offers three overlapping services that let you find hardware and people in varying combinations and with varying degrees of permission and consent. Loosely, these can be categorized in the way that Apple breaks them out as views in the native Find My apps for Mac, iPhone, and iPad:

• People: You can share your location with friends, family, and others, and view the location of people who have shared theirs.

• Devices: All your iCloud-linked computing and audio hardware appears here, as well as all the devices logged in by members of your Family Sharing group (if any). You can track any iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch, and AirPods (nearly, via Bluetooth only), AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, and a variety of Beats audio hardware. ...
