Work with Widgets
Widgets, those little blocks that give you a glimpse into certain apps or allow you to perform simple tasks, are not new. They started out in iOS and iPadOS and have been available in Notification Center since macOS 12 Monterey. Sonoma, however, adds interesting new capabilities to widgets: you can now put them right on your desktop, and even iPhone widgets can now be used on your Mac.
Before I can tell you about widgets, however, I have to explain some important (and, arguably, weird) changes to the way the desktop works.
